Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar completed 25,000 runs in First-Class cricket while playing for Mumbai against Rest of India in the Irani Trophy match on Friday. He posted his 81st century in first-class cricket, equalling him with the original little master Sunil Gavaskar, for most first-class tons posted by an Indian.
In reply to Rest of India’s total of 526, Mumbai had a steady start provided by Wasim Jaffer and Ajinkya Rahane but since their departure, Tendulkar has steadied the ship.
This knock will give the man a lot of confidence ahead of a tough series against Australia, starting from February 22.
After retiring from ODI cricket, Tendulkar has done well for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy and has carried his form into the Irani Cup.
