Day 1: Compton & Trott hit centuries in second Test

England has dominated day one of the second test against the Black Caps in Wellington.

The tourists are 267/2 at stumps, with Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen at the crease. Trott is unbeaten on 119 and Pietersen 18.

Neil Wagner grabbed the opening wicket of the day, dismissing captain Alistair Cook for 17.

However, Nick Compton and Trott went about putting on 210 runs before Ross Taylor caught Compton in the slips for 100 off the bowling of Bruce Martin.
