David Warner Suspended until first Ashes Test

June 13 2013: Australia batsman David Warner has been suspended until the first Ashes Test match for an alleged attack on England batsman Joe Root in a bar.

Warner, 26, was also fined £7,000 (AU $11,500) after the incident, which took place in Birmingham on Sunday morning.

He will now miss the remainder of his country's Champions Trophy campaign. He can play in the first Ashes Test on 10 July.
