England squads for India T20 and ODI series

Explosive batsman Kevin Pietersen returned to the ODI side but was rested from the Twenty20 Internationals as England announced their squads for the limited-over series against India starting next month. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) also announced on Wednesday that former England international Ashley Giles will take over as England limited overs head coach as officials try to ease the burden on team director Andy Flower.

England selectors today named a 13-man squad for the two-match T20 series against India next month as well as a squad for the five-match ODI series against India in January.

Stuart Broad will lead the T20 side with Stuart Meaker the only player included in the squad not to have played a T20 match for England before.

The ODI series begins on January 11 in Rajkot. Five players included in the squad did not take part in England's most recent ODI tour of India in 2011: Danny Briggs, Eoin Morgan, James Tredwell, Stuart Broad and James Anderson.
